ABOUT
Ponzi grew up in Harlem during the Hip Hop era. Black heritage, music, metaphysics, and spirituality prevail vibrantly in PonziArt.
In 2009 Ponzi — sketching only periodically — found an affinity for anime, compelling him to create a story named Meta Seishin. He joined other fellow visual artists from New York and surrounding areas, as part of an informal collective sharing artistic interests and began experimenting with multimedia. His repertoire soon expanded to also include contemporary painting and photography.
In 2018, his work was featured in a three-month exhibit at Manhattan’s Hotel 50 Bowery. Working closely with 5 Pointz world-renowned Graffiti Artist Meres One, Ponzi began incorporating graffiti into his work. Recently, he married contemporary art to fashion, introducing abstract to athleisure. His art features a juxtaposition of superimposed images and symbols.
Ponzi’s hope is for audiences to be encouraged by his art to ponder something meaningful and do something purposeful.
